I’ve struggled over the past few weeks deciding how best to provide social networking links to my site. What do I do? What’s the best code? Can I just add a widget?
All these questions lead me no where in particular. Plenty of blogs have social networking links, bu tnot very many were forthcoming on how they got them. Several have recommended a site called badged, but I didn’t like its method. I’m now using addthis.com which is the best I’ve come across.
You need to register for a free account, but that was a painless exercise and within minutes I had the code working on the site.
You are given the option for addthis.com to install the code as a widget inyour template which I took, but it placed the bookmark on the sidebar.
My preference is to have it beneath my posts, so I simply copied the code from the layout page in the template of blogger and pasted it into the post template (under settings, formatting) and voila, social networking bookmarking in a snap.
